Simon Hassan

FinPRO™ was created by Simon Hassan MA(Hons), GradDipEd, GradDipBusStud (Personal Financial Planning).

Simon is a Certified Financial PlannerCM Professional, Chartered Life Underwriter and Authorised Financial Adviser.

The FinPRO™ tools are the culmination of several decades of Simon’s experience and knowledge as a recognised industry leader.

From the beginning Simon has defined his career by operating with integrity and objectivity - ensuring the interests of people come before numbers.

Simon’s long-term commitment and passion was recently recognised by the IFA (Institute of Financial Advisers) who awarded him the prestigious Outstanding Contribution to the Profession award, at the 2014 IFA conference.

Simon’s many achievements include:

• Chairing the Auckland Branch of the IFA and serving two terms as IFA President and Board Chair.
• Nine years as lecturer in financial advice at Massey University.
• He holds a cabinet warrant as a member of the Government’s
• Financial Advisers Disciplinary Committee.
• A current member of the Standards Committee of the International
• Financial Planning Standard Board (www.fpsb.org). FPSB sets and promotes standards for financial planners in 24 countries around the world.

Being a firm advocate for the financial advice profession . Over the last 25 years he has been a vocal and hands-on participant and has led many projects towards greater levels of professionalism of the industry both in NZ and worldwide.

Mentor and consultant to other advisors, advisory firms, government agencies and education providers.

Simon has authored numerous articles for professional journals and the mainstream press, and is a sought after national and international speaker on professional matters.
